This is what is wrong with America: "But does anybody really need a vehicle that is nine feet tall, eight feet wide, 21 1/2 feet long and gets about seven miles on a gallon of diesel?

Rob Swim, International's marketing director, said the 5-passenger CXT will appeal to image-conscious contractors, roofers, landscapers and other small-business owners who can use the towing power but also want to draw attention to themselves." Emphasis mine.

All image, no substance. You know what, I don't want an image conscious contractor! I want a contractor who is interested in doing his job. I feel the same way about anybody who drives an Escelade or other vehicles that scream "look at me!". I believe that anybody who buys a vehicle that ostentatious wants people to look at them and gets a rush thinking that people want to be them. I laugh at people who think that any intelligent person wants to be as shallow as that. I run away from people like that! I have no respect for people that must parade their material worth - it's an immediate testament to their lack of depth.

Just do I don't sound so harsh, I want to make a distinction between working hard and spending money on luxurious things and the desire to show off. Working hard and becoming financially secure is obviously a good character trait. I wish more people had the desire to work hard. And spending that money on whatever you may desire is a natural consequence of having money. There are plenty of Mercedes out there that scream luxury that not many people can afford, but do not serve the purpose of drawing attention to the person driving. I think the two character traits are very different.
